Irish startup Equal1 has introduced Bell-1, the first hybrid quantum-classical computer built on a silicon chip.
Bell-1 integrates classical transistors for standard computing tasks with quantum transistors for qubits on a single silicon-based chip.
The system weighs approximately 200 kg and can be plugged into a standard electrical outlet.
Designed for easy integration into data centers, it uses a closed-cycle cryo-cooler, enabling operation at 0.3 Kelvin (-272.85°C) without large external dilution refrigerators.
Bell-1 currently features six qubits, making it available for purchase despite its limited problem-solving capabilities compared to larger systems like Google's 105-qubit Willow chip.
