Uber Expands Robotaxi Services Through Strategic Partnerships Globally

Edited by: Tetiana Pinchuk Pinchuk

In 2025, Uber is significantly expanding its autonomous vehicle initiatives through strategic partnerships, integrating robotaxis into its ride-hailing platform across various global markets.

In February 2025, Uber and Waymo expanded their partnership to offer self-driving rides in Austin, Texas. This collaboration allows Uber users to opt for autonomous vehicles through the app.

In May 2025, Uber partnered with May Mobility to deploy thousands of autonomous vehicles, starting in Arlington, Texas, by late 2025. The company also announced partnerships with Pony.ai and Momenta to introduce self-driving taxis in key international markets.

The initial rollout with Pony.ai is planned for the Middle East later in 2025, while the collaboration with Momenta focuses on deploying autonomous vehicles in Europe starting in early 2026. These partnerships aim to provide more convenient and reliable transportation options.
