Hyundai Motor Group has been recognized for its commitment to vehicle safety, earning top honors in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) 2025 crash test evaluations.
A total of 12 models from Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis received TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) and TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) awards, representing 25% of the total awards given this year. This makes Hyundai Motor Group the leading automotive group in IIHS safety awards for the second year in a row.
Hyundai Motor Company secured five TSP+ awards for the IONIQ 5, KONA, TUCSON, SANTA FE (for vehicles produced after November 2024), and IONIQ 6. Genesis also earned five awards, with four TSP+ for the GV60, Electrified GV70, GV70 (for vehicles produced after April 2024), and GV80, and one TSP for the G90. Kia received two TSP+ awards for the EV9 and Telluride.
The IIHS testing criteria for 2025 emphasize protection for second-row passengers, focusing on advanced seatbelt technology and other safety innovations.
Brian Latouf, President and Chief Safety and Quality Officer Global Hyundai Motor Group, highlighted the achievement, stating that the awards affirm the group's commitment to providing the highest levels of safety.
