Starting July 1, Electra, a French operator, will reduce its fast-charging price in Germany to €0.49 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) via the Electra app.
This represents a decrease of approximately 20% compared to the previous price.
The move is part of Electra's growth strategy, which includes the opening of its first fast-charging station in Gräfelfing near Munich in May.
Electra plans to operate over 30 charging parks in Germany by 2026 and establish several hundred locations in the medium term.
The goal is to facilitate access to fast charging and promote the transition to electric vehicles.
High energy costs are considered a major factor hindering the adoption of EVs.
Electra is a leader in fast charging in France and Belgium and has expanded its network to Austria and Switzerland.
With the price reduction and planned expansion in Germany, the company aims to strengthen its position in the European market.
The Electra app is required to start and pay for charging at Electra stations.
The new prices apply from July 1, at all Electra charging stations in Germany.
