Mercedes Streamlines Van Lineup, Focuses on Electric Future

Mercedes-Benz will discontinue its T-Class and Citan vans by mid-next year. Renault, the manufacturer of these vans, will cease production. The electric variants, EQT and eCitan, will also be retired by mid-2026.

The company is shifting its focus to larger, more profitable commercial vans. These will be built on the VAN.CA and Van.EA architectures. These future vans will share more than 70 percent of their parts.

Despite these cuts, Mercedes is developing new models. A smaller G-Class and a fully electric C-Class are in development. AMG is also working on dedicated EVs, including a sedan and an electric SUV.
