Jaguar's Bold Move: Electric Transformation Targeting Bentley with New EV

Jaguar is undergoing a brand transformation, shifting its focus to compete with Bentley with a new, extravagantly designed EV, first previewed by the Type 00 concept. Production of all internal combustion engine models, except the F-Pace, has ceased. By 2026, all new Jaguar models will be electric. The new EV features an unorthodox design, distinguishing itself in traffic even under heavy camouflage. Jaguar anticipates a significant shift in its customer base, acknowledging that up to 85% of current customers may not purchase the new electric model. The company is committed to an all-electric future, foregoing gasoline engines. The new model will feature a four-door configuration, differing from the Type 00 concept's two-door silhouette. Despite shorter rear doors, the dedicated EV platform aims to maximize interior space. Jaguar is taking a significant risk with this new strategy, starting with a bold grand tourer. Following the GT, a SUV and a large sedan of more conventional shape are rumored.
