Google Launches 'Search Live' for Real-Time AI Voice Interactions

Edited by: Veronika Radoslavskaya

Google has introduced 'Search Live,' an experimental feature enabling real-time voice conversations with search. This feature is currently available to Search Labs users in the United States on both Android and iOS devices.

To use 'Search Live,' users open the Google app and tap the 'Live' icon. They can then make verbal queries, such as asking for tips to prevent linen dresses from wrinkling. The search provides an AI-generated audio response, allowing for continued conversation with further questions.

'Search Live' operates in the background, allowing users to converse even while using other apps. It also offers a transcription option for viewing text-based responses. This initiative is part of Google's efforts to integrate AI into its products, following significant AI advancements showcased at Google I/O 2025, including Gemini 2.5 Pro and Flash models.

Future expansions of 'Search Live' are expected, incorporating more live features into AI Mode, such as using the camera to show Search what the user is seeing in real-time. This innovation aims to transform the search experience, offering more natural and efficient interactions between users and Google's technology.
