OpenAI Releases GPT-4.1 with Enhanced Coding and Context Handling

OpenAI launched its new AI model, GPT-4.1, alongside smaller versions. The company highlights significant enhancements in coding capabilities, instruction adherence, and the ability to understand long contexts.

These new models, accessible through OpenAI's API, surpass the performance of the GPT-4o model. They support up to 1 million tokens and feature updated knowledge up to June 2024.

GPT-4.1 demonstrates a 21% improvement over GPT-4o in coding tasks. The models are also more cost-effective than GPT-4.5, with the GPT-4.5 preview scheduled to be discontinued in July.
