Google has announced the launch of Gemini 2.0, its latest artificial intelligence language model, designed to compete with Bard and GPT-4. This new iteration enhances capabilities in generating text, code, audio, and images, allowing for a deeper understanding of real-world contexts.
Set for release to developers and partners by early 2025, Gemini 2.0 aims to anticipate user needs by considering context. The Flash version is expected to be available as early as January 2025.
Gemini 2.0 will support the development of virtual assistants, content creation, and software development. The technology will be integrated into Google’s products, starting with the Gemini chat platform and the search engine.
Users can access an optimized chat version, Gemini 2.0 Flash Experimental, by selecting it from the model menu on both computers and mobile devices. This tool features advancements in multimodal reasoning, broad context understanding, and complex instruction execution.
Gemini 2.0 Flash is currently available as an experimental model for developers through the Gemini API in Google AI Studio and Vertex AI, with general availability planned for January, alongside new model size options.
