Charan, a 25-year-old wrestler from Hyderabad, overcame a severe knee injury to win a gold medal at the All India Civil Services Wrestling Championship 2024-25 in Mumbai. He had undergone surgery and rehabilitation at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) following the injury.
Charan's injury was so debilitating that he initially believed his wrestling career was over. Diagnosed with ligament tears and other complications, he underwent surgery followed by intensive physiotherapy. The medical team, led by Dr. Srinivas Kasha, emphasized the importance of post-surgical care for his recovery.
The successful surgery and dedicated rehabilitation not only enabled Charan to walk again but also to regain his strength and stamina. He also secured a job as a Telangana Excise Constable, requiring him to pass demanding physical fitness tests. Charan returned to KIMS to celebrate his achievements with the medical staff who aided his recovery.
