Philippines Curling Team Secures Historic Gold at Asian Winter Games; Saltillo Youth Win Flag Football World Championship

The Philippine national men's curling team achieved a monumental victory at the Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China, securing the nation's first-ever gold medal. The team, composed of Marc Angelo Pfister, Alan Beat Frei, Christian Patrick Haller, Enrico Gabriel Pfister, and Benjo Delarmente, triumphed over South Korea with a score of 5-3 in the final game. This win marks the highest achievement for a Southeast Asian team in the history of the Asian Winter Games, as stated by the Philippine Olympic Committee. In another remarkable feat, five young athletes from Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, earned the title of world champions at the Flag Football World Championship held in Tampa Bay, Florida. Eduardo Mendoza Figueroa, Eduardo Ruiz Alba, Gerardo Orta, Marcelo Horta, and Homero Montaño, representing the Raptors team from Monterrey, competed in the U-18 category. This year's championship set a Guinness World Record for the highest attendance in the sport, with approximately 1,200 teams participating globally.
