Ghanaian MC and media personality MC Portfolio has praised the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) as one of the premier awards shows in Ghana and across Africa. He emphasized the high production quality, aesthetics, and coordination of the TGMAs.
MC Portfolio stated that the TGMAs are comparable to, or even exceed, the quality of other respected international award ceremonies. He cited his experience attending other African award shows this year, including the Headies in Nigeria and the Trace Awards in Zanzibar. According to him, the TGMAs stood out in terms of overall quality.
He observed that other African award shows often prioritize their red-carpet experiences. He believes this is an area where Ghana could improve. He noted that Nigeria excels in red-carpet glamour, an area where Ghana still has room to grow. The 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) was held on May 10, 2025, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre. King Promise was adjudged Artiste of the Year.
