Soundgarden's Unreleased Album with Chris Cornell: Possible 2025 Release Rock Hall Induction

Edited by: Inna Horoshkina One

Soundgarden fans may finally hear the band's unreleased album featuring the late Chris Cornell. Bassist Ben Shepherd hinted at a possible release of the album, which includes the track 'The Road Less Traveled,' co-written by Cornell and Matt Cameron. The album has been in limbo due to legal disputes, but a resolution in 2023 has raised hopes for its release.

The surviving members of Soundgarden are also preparing for their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on November 8, 2025, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The ceremony will stream live on Disney+, with an edited version on ABC later. Guitarist Kim Thayil acknowledged the difficulty of finding a vocalist to honor Cornell's legacy during the event.

Thayil mentioned that Soundgarden didn't initially prioritize the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. However, Chris Cornell's experience inducting Heart in 2013, along with Matt Cameron's induction with Pearl Jam, shifted their perspective. The potential release of the final album and the Hall of Fame induction mark significant milestones for Soundgarden and their fans in 2025.
