Black Honey has released their new single, 'Dead,' from their upcoming fourth album, 'Soak'. The album is scheduled to be released on August 15, 2025.
'Dead' is a shoegaze and dream pop-influenced track featuring distorted guitars and introspective lyrics. The song explores themes of dissociation, with vocalist Izzy B. Phillips singing, "You can't kill me now cause I'm already dead/You can't hear the crowd, that scream in my head/You can't kill me now cause I'm already dead for you."
The album 'Soak' draws inspiration from director Stanley Kubrick, continuing the band's trend of referencing iconic directors. Phillips describes 'Soak' as a reflection on a decade of touring and creating music, delving into themes of identity and transformation. 'Dead' and 'Psycho' are the band's first new releases after a year-long hiatus following their 2023 album 'A Fistful of Peaches'.
