Emo band Home Is Where has announced their new album, 'Hunting Season,' scheduled for release on May 23 via Wax Bodega Records. The announcement was made on April 8, 2025. The lead single from the album, titled "Migration Patterns," is now available. According to frontman Bea MacDonald, the song explores themes of grappling with a mundane destiny. The track features harmonica and pedal steel, blending country and emo elements. 'Hunting Season' was produced by Jack Shirley, who also worked on the band's previous record, 'The Whaler.' The album features backing vocals by Shannon Taylor of awakebutstillinbed, pedal steel/dobro by Dan Potthast, and piano by Evan Bailey. Bea MacDonald and guitarist Tilley Komorny wrote most of the album remotely after fleeing their Florida homes due to the state's growing hostility towards trans people. The album's 13 songs are said to each be sung from the perspective of a different Elvis impersonator.
