Circuit des Yeux Unveils New Album Halo On The Inside

Circuit des Yeux, the musical project of Haley Fohr, has released her latest album, Halo On The Inside—a bold departure from her previous orchestral elegy, -io. This new work embraces electronic impulses and presents a more introspective and exploratory soundscape.

From Solitude to Discovery

The album began in Fohr’s basement, where initial compositions took shape in solitude. Later, recording sessions at Bathtub Shrine Studio in Minneapolis, alongside producer Andrew Broder, brought these ideas to life—transforming deep introspections into an exploration of openness and discovery.

A Sonic Landscape of Contrast

  • "Megaloner" sets the tone with pulsating synth basslines, opening the album with intensity.

  • "Canopy of Eden" reflects a struggle against internal resistance, driven by a firm and unyielding rhythm.

  • "Skeleton Key" dives into vulnerability, questioning strength and surrender.

  • In "Truth," Fohr experiments with falsetto, expanding her vocal range and emotional depth.

  • "Cathexis" blends genres, offering moments of boldness and reflection.

  • "Cosmic Joke" explores themes of self-deception, while "Anthem of Me" channels a raw, untamed energy.

Transformation and the Final Note

The album cover depicts Fohr in a state of transformation—a symbolic representation of her journey through sound and self-discovery.

  • "Organ Bed" provides a moment of weightlessness and calm within the album's flow.

  • The closing track, "It Takes My Pain Away," is an instrumental piece that dissolves into spaciousness, leaving room for contemplation and future exploration.

Halo On The Inside isn’t just an album—it's a sonic journey through Fohr's inner landscapes. It invites listeners to explore the space between vulnerability and strength, silence and impulse. A deeply personal and experimental work, it showcases Fohr’s ability to shape sound into profound emotional narratives.
