Lorde Reveals Reason for Jack Antonoff Split on New Album 'Virgin'

Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

Lorde fans were surprised when Jack Antonoff's name was absent from the credits of her upcoming album, 'Virgin'. The New Zealand pop star, known for hits like 'Royals', had previously collaborated with Antonoff on her last two albums.

In a recent Rolling Stone cover story, Lorde explained her decision to part ways with her longtime collaborator. She emphasized that the split was amicable, describing Antonoff as a "positive, supportive" teammate.

Lorde stated that her decision was based on intuition. "I'm very vibes-based," she said, adding, "I just have to trust when my intuition says to keep moving."

For 'Virgin', Lorde chose Jim-E Stack as the executive producer, alongside herself. She also collaborated with Fabiana Palladino, Andrew Aged, Buddy Ross, Dan Nigro, and Dev Hynes of Blood Orange.

Stack and Hynes will also join Lorde on her 'Ultrasound' tour in September as opening acts. The tour will also feature The Japanese House, Nilüfer Yanya, Chanel Beads, Empress Of, and Oklou.

'Virgin' is set to release on June 27, four years after her last album, 'Solar Power'. Lorde and Antonoff previously addressed rumors of a romantic relationship, clarifying that they were just close friends and collaborators.
