The film "The Quiet Son," directed by Delphine and Muriel Coulin, has won the Best Film Award at the ninth Barcelona-Sant Jordi International Film Festival (BCN FILM FEST).
The film explores the dangers of the rise of the far-right in a family drama starring Vincent Lindon and Benjamin Voisin. The official jury, including Sílvia Munt, Sergi Belbel, and José Corbacho, also awarded Alissa Jung the Best Director prize for her debut film "Paternal Leave."
Lilja Ingolfsdottir received the Best Screenplay award for "Adorable." Grégory Gadebois and Alexandra Lamy won Best Actor and Best Actress for their roles in "La primera escuela." The festival, held from April 24 to May 2, 2025, featured 84 films, including 17 world premieres, and attracted over 24,000 viewers, a 20% increase from the previous year.
The tenth edition of the BCN FILM FEST is scheduled for April 16-24, 2026.
