UFO Disclosure 2026: Second Batch of Documents Released

Author: Uliana S

On May 22, 2026, the U.S. Department of War released its second installment of declassified materials as part of the PURSUE program. While the initial release on May 8 consisted of approximately 162 files, this second wave has brought the total number of items on the war.gov/UFO portal to 222. Consequently, this latest tranche adds roughly 60 new documents, videos, images, and audio recordings to the public record.

This new release continues the strategy of gradual information disclosure. Among the most significant materials are video DOW-UAP-PR050, which depicts a formation of four objects off the coast of Iran in August 2022, and DOW-UAP-PR051, featuring a recording of an object’s instantaneous acceleration in Syria in 2021. These recordings demonstrate flight characteristics that military analysts have yet to explain.

The second package also contains historical records: sighting reports from the Sandia base in New Mexico between 1948 and 1950, a 1973 CIA intelligence report on the USSR, an audio recording of a medical briefing from the 1969 Apollo 12 mission, and a fresh account from a high-ranking U.S. intelligence official regarding events in the Western United States in 2025.

An official statement from the Department of War, delivered by Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Sean Parnell, emphasizes that this work is ongoing. A third release is already in preparation and will be announced in the near future. The White House also confirmed the rollout of the second wave of files, noting the importance of this step for government transparency.

In the two weeks since its launch, the war.gov/UFO portal has recorded more than one billion visits from around the world. This second release reinforces the impression that the disclosure process is both systematic and consistent. Rather than making sensational claims, the government is simply providing incremental access to previously classified materials.

A broader range of raw data is now available to the public, spanning everything from modern military footage to archival documents. This allows researchers, journalists, and the general public to conduct their own independent analysis of the information. The process remains underway, and according to the department's promises, subsequent releases will follow shortly.
