Marina Tabassum's Serpentine Pavilion Unveiled in London, Marking 25 Years of Architectural Show

Edited by: Ек Soshnikova

On June 6th, 2025, the Serpentine Pavilion opened its doors in London's Kensington Gardens. This year's design, the brainchild of Marina Tabassum, a celebrated Bangladeshi architect, holds a special significance, celebrating the 25th anniversary of this prestigious project.

Tabassum's vision unfolds in four captivating wooden capsules, their translucent facades inviting a dance of light. This design evokes the spirit of traditional South Asian "shamiyana" tents, offering a serene and contemplative space.

At the heart of the pavilion, a courtyard cradles a ginkgo tree, a symbol of enduring strength. One of the modules boasts a kinetic element, adding a dynamic layer to the experience. Visitors can immerse themselves in this architectural marvel until October 26th, 2025.
