Cape Canaveral - Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost lunar lander concluded its mission after two weeks of NASA science experiments. The mission ended as the lunar sunset deprived the lander of solar energy. CEO Jason Kim confirmed the mission's completion via X. The lander operated five hours into the lunar night before ceasing operations on Sunday evening. Photos of the lunar sunset are scheduled for release on Tuesday. Launched from Cape Canaveral in January as part of NASA's commercial lunar delivery program, Blue Ghost landed on the moon's far northeastern edge on March 2. It carried various instruments for NASA. Firefly confirmed that all 10 experiments were successful. The lander observed a total solar eclipse from the moon late last week. Firefly is the first private company to achieve a soft landing on the moon. The company is already planning its next lunar lander, aiming for annual moon landings.
