China Tests Robot on Tiangong Space Station and Lunar Satellites Reach Orbit After Launch Issue

China has successfully tested a robot on the Tiangong space station designed to maintain complex pipeline systems. The robot demonstrated the ability to navigate through pipes of varying shapes and sizes, inspired by the movements of starfish. This advancement could improve the efficiency and safety of space stations. Separately, two Chinese satellites, DRO-A and B, reached their intended lunar orbit after a 167-day rescue maneuver following a launch issue on March 12, 2024. The satellites will study the lunar orbit and communicate with the DRO-L satellite. DRO-A is equipped with an all-sky monitor to detect gamma-ray bursts. The U.S. Space Force confirmed the satellites reached the Moon in summer 2024.
