New Jersey Wildfire Contained, Rain Offers Limited Relief

Edited by: Anna 🌎 Krasko

The Jones Road wildfire in South Jersey, which consumed 15,300 acres, is now 60% contained. Fire operations continue in Lacey and Waretown, near the Garden State Parkway.

Rainfall provided some relief, but was insufficient to fully extinguish the blaze. More rain and thunderstorms are expected, with potential for strong winds to fan the flames.

Authorities urge the public to avoid the woods due to the ongoing fire risk. One commercial building and several vehicles have been destroyed, with four structures still under threat.
