Hundreds of homes and roads in Lanzarote were flooded following torrential rainfall on Saturday, November 25th. The Lanzarote government declared a state of emergency overnight after 6 cm (2.4 inches) of rain fell on the Canary Island in just two hours. No injuries were reported, and the state of emergency was lifted Sunday morning. Emergency services responded to over 300 calls, primarily in Arrecife and Teguise. The area of San Bartolomé was particularly affected. Spain's meteorological service issued weather warnings for storms in the northeast, rain in the Balearic Islands, and wind in parts of the northern and southern coast.
