The Canary Islands are experiencing severe weather as Storm Nuria brings hurricane-force winds. Authorities issued red alerts for La Palma and amber alerts for other tourist regions. Wind gusts are expected to reach up to 80mph, creating dangerous sea conditions, particularly affecting Tenerife, El Hierro, and La Gomera. Schools in Tenerife, La Palma, and La Graciosa are closed as a precaution. The storm is also bringing rain, strong winds, and cooler temperatures to much of Spain, with heavy rainfall expected in Galicia, the Balearic Islands, and the Cantabrian mountain range.
