The Unified Command between Lanín National Park and the Government of Neuquén reported that the "Valle Magdalena" wildfire is now contained, affecting 24,100 hectares. This status could revert if strong winds and high temperatures reactivate the fire. Rainfall and lower temperatures are expected to aid firefighting efforts. Daily overflights identify hotspots, guiding the deployment of 26 firefighters and technical personnel. Two helicopters and two water bomber aircraft are operational, targeting hotspots. Initial access is via helicopter, with manual tools and water equipment used for direct fire control. A cold front bringing rain and snow above 1000 meters is expected this weekend. Fires are prohibited throughout the National Park outside designated camping areas.
