Delta Air Lines Patagonia Azul Partner to Protect Chilean Marine Ecosystems in 2025

Edited by: Inna Horoshkina One

Delta Air Lines continues its partnership with the Patagonia Azul Foundation in 2025 to conserve vulnerable marine ecosystems in southern Chile. The collaboration focuses on empowering local communities through technology and training to enhance marine conservation efforts.

The partnership supports the Multiple-Use Marine Protected Area (AMCP-MU) of Pitipalena Añihué, a 237 km² area rich in marine life, including kelp forests and marine mammals. Delta's support includes providing technology like hyperspectral drones and surveillance equipment for ecosystem monitoring.

Experts and Universidad Austral de Chile will provide training to local community members for biodiversity monitoring. This aligns with Delta's Joint Venture with LATAM, facilitating travel to Patagonia. Delta offers daily flights from Atlanta to Santiago de Chile, with increased frequency during peak season from December 11, 2025, to January 19, 2026.
