Guatemala's National Forest Institute (INAB) is continuing its large-scale reforestation project in 2025, with the goal of planting 1.35 million trees. This initiative, known as 'Sembrando Huella' (Sowing Footprint), includes numerous reforestation events throughout the country.

The project aims to increase awareness about the critical importance of forests through various activities. INAB plans to conduct forestry talks, host educational games, and organize children's forest fairs to engage the public.

These activities are timed to coincide with National Tree Day on May 22nd. The organizers anticipate the participation of a large number of people in these events. The initiative also seeks to mitigate climate change and improve overall air quality, promoting the theme 'Become a Forest Superhero' to encourage active involvement in ecosystem restoration.
