The Junta de Andalucía is undertaking significant conservation and ecological restoration work at the Albufera de Adra in Almería, Spain, in 2025.
With an investment of €997,673, the project aims to rehabilitate 3.7 hectares of land within this vital wetland, which is part of the Natura 2000 network and protected under the Ramsar Convention. The efforts include removing invasive species and creating refuges for local wildlife.
Upgrades are also planned for public facilities used for scientific and recreational purposes, such as bird observatories and the ornithological station. The perimeter fence will be renewed to protect vulnerable species from predators, enhancing the area's biodiversity. These improvements highlight a commitment to the sustainable development and conservation of this important natural reserve.
