Santander, Colombia, has unveiled a new interactive Natural History Museum, offering the community a chance to explore and appreciate the region's diverse animal and plant life. The museum features nearly 400 species of Santander's flora and fauna, displayed across seven themed environments that highlight different ecosystems, climates, and thermal zones. Exhibits include taxidermied specimens and fiberglass sculptures of endangered species, such as spectacled bears and manatees. The museum aims to educate visitors about biodiversity, evolution, climate change impacts, and genetics through immersive displays incorporating lights, sounds, and video. The new location includes a laboratory to enhance visitor education with integrated multimedia resources.
