Archaeologists from Guatemala and Slovakia announced the discovery of 'Los Abuelos' (Spanish for 'The Grandfathers') in May 2025. The ancient Mayan city is located approximately 21 kilometers from Uaxactún, a well-known archaeological site. The city is situated in the Petén department of northern Guatemala.
