Mexico: Taxpayers May Receive Refunds on 2025 Annual Tax Returns

Edited by: Elena Weismann

Some taxpayers in Mexico may be eligible for refunds on their 2025 annual tax returns, depending on factors such as deductions, tax incentives, and tax withholdings. A tax refund occurs when a taxpayer has paid more taxes than required during the fiscal year. The Mexican tax authority (SAT) may return the excess amount or allow it to be used to offset future tax obligations. The SAT's online tax calculator will indicate if a taxpayer is entitled to a refund when filing the 2025 annual tax return, after justifying all income and expenses for the fiscal period.
