Goldenvoice, the organizer of Coachella, has been fined $20,000 by the City of Indio, California, due to Travis Scott's performance exceeding the curfew during the first weekend of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 12, 2025. Scott's performance ran three minutes past the 1:00 AM curfew.
Coachella's agreement with city officials mandates that the festival concludes by 1:00 AM on Friday and Saturday nights, and by 12:00 AM on Sundays. The agreement stipulates a $20,000 fine for the first five minutes past curfew. Reports indicate that Travis Scott's late start was due to a delay caused by Green Day's performance, which experienced a 15-minute setback because of pyrotechnics.
The City of Indio stated that the Saturday fine was the only curfew penalty issued across all three weekends of the festival, including Coachella and Stagecoach. Goldenvoice has faced similar fines in the past, including a $54,000 fine in 2009 after Paul McCartney exceeded the curfew by 54 minutes. Despite these penalties, Goldenvoice typically maintains a hands-off approach regarding curfew enforcement.
