On March 27, Ripple announced a partnership with Chipper Cash to facilitate faster and more affordable cross-border payments across Africa. This collaboration integrates Ripple's blockchain technology into Chipper Cash's platform, benefiting millions of users in nine African countries. The integration allows Chipper Cash customers to access Ripple Payments, enabling swift international transfers using digital assets. Ripple's Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa, Reece Merrick, highlighted the growing interest in blockchain within the region, emphasizing its real-world value, especially in areas underserved by traditional banking. Chipper Cash CEO Ham Serunjogi expressed optimism about the partnership, noting the potential of crypto-enabled payments to increase financial access and support broader economic inclusion. This deal strengthens Ripple's presence in Africa, building on its 2023 collaboration with Onafriq. Ripple's global expansion includes a partnership with Unicâmbio in Portugal and a license from the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), supporting over 90 payout markets and processing over $70 billion in volume.
