Interactive Brokers has expanded its cryptocurrency offerings, adding SOL, XRP, ADA, and DOGE to its trading platform. This update, announced three and a half years after the initial launch of crypto services for BTC, ETH, LTC, and BCH, enables eligible U.S. and UK clients to trade these cryptocurrencies 24/7. The platform allows investors to take spot positions and hedge exposure using crypto futures, options, and ETFs through a unified interface. Interactive Brokers connects to infrastructure providers like Zero Hash and Paxos to facilitate trading without direct blockchain management. Clients can also withdraw crypto assets to external wallets. The firm claims to offer low-cost trading, charging 0.12% to 0.18% of trade value as commission, without added spreads or custody fees. Interactive Brokers initially launched crypto services in September 2021.
