Tokenized US Treasuries Market Surpasses $5 Billion Amid Growing Demand

Edited by: Yuliya Shumai

The market value of tokenized U.S. Treasuries exceeded $5 billion this week, according to data from rwa.xyz, driven by increasing demand for blockchain-based real-world assets (RWAs). The sector's growth accelerated by $1 billion in just two weeks, fueled by inflows into BlackRock's BUIDL and Securitize. Fidelity Investments recently filed for regulatory approval last week to launch its Fidelity Treasury Digital Liquidity on the Ethereum blockchain. DeFi protocol Spark plans a $1 billion allocation to BUIDL, Superstate's USTB, and Centrifuge's fund. Tokenized Treasuries offer investors yield-earning opportunities and are increasingly used as reserve assets for decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.
