U.S. Representatives Jim Jordan and Scott Fitzgerald have voiced concerns over the European Union's Digital Markets Act (DMA), suggesting it unfairly targets American tech companies. In a letter to EU antitrust chief Teresa Ribera, they criticized the DMA's regulations, including potential fines of 10% of global yearly revenue, arguing they burden companies and favor European firms. The lawmakers have requested a response by March 10. This follows President Trump's memorandum to scrutinize the DMA and DSA, and bipartisan concerns raised in late 2023 about the DMA's focus on U.S. tech giants while excluding other international firms. The European Commission is reconsidering investigations into American tech companies.
