China and Turkey Extend Currency Swap Agreement

BEIJING, June 13 - The People's Bank of China and Turkey's central bank have agreed to extend their currency swap agreement for three years.

The agreement amounts to 35 billion yuan ($4.87 billion) or 189 billion Turkish lira, according to a statement released by the PBOC.

Additionally, both parties signed a memorandum of cooperation to establish a yuan clearing arrangement in Turkey.
