Warriors' Basketball Clinic Supports Inmate Rehabilitation at Solano Prison

Edited by: Liliya Shabalina

The Golden State Warriors, in partnership with the Twinning Project and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), initiated a six-week basketball clinic at California State Prison (CSP) Solano in early 2025.

The program aimed to equip incarcerated individuals with coaching skills and life lessons, promoting personal growth and rehabilitation. The curriculum included basketball fundamentals, leadership, teamwork, and conflict resolution.

An exhibition game between the Warriors' recreational team and the Solano Level II All-Star Wolverines showcased the participants' newly acquired skills. The CDCR plans to expand the program to female institutions, potentially involving professional women's sports teams.
