Get ready to experience the vibrant culture of the Caribbean! Barbados is set to host the 15th edition of the Caribbean Festival of Arts (CARIFESTA XV) from August 22nd to 31st, 2025.
Under the theme "Caribbean Roots, Global Excellence," the festival will celebrate the rich cultural heritage and creativity of the Caribbean region. The event's schedule is centered on three pillars: "Where We Come From: Honoring Our Heritage," "Where We Are: Celebrating Caribbean Excellence," and "Where We Are Going: Building a Sustainable and Resilient Future."
Highlights include the opening ceremony, the Caribbean Street Parade, and the "Icons Nights" concert. Additionally, there will be the "Sacred Train," a spiritual sunrise gathering with dance, spoken word, and music, and "Sunday Dinner," a culinary experience showcasing traditional Caribbean Sunday meals. Heritage exhibitions will offer research presentations and interactive displays on Caribbean history and identity.
CARIFESTA XV will also feature theoretical spaces exploring the resilience and adaptability of Caribbean culture in the face of global changes, including climate action, economic sustainability, and social progress. CARIFESTA is an international multicultural event organized periodically by Caribbean countries, aiming to bring together artists, musicians, and authors to showcase the folkloric and artistic expressions of the Caribbean and Latin American regions.
