Usseglio, nestled in the heart of the Lanzo Valleys, will host the 29th National Toma di Lanzo and Alpine Cheese Exhibition over the weekends of July 11-13 and 19-20, 2025. This annual event celebrates local cheesemaking traditions, with a focus on the Toma di Lanzo cheese, and offers a variety of activities for all visitors.
The festival kicks off on Friday, July 11th, with an official opening at 6:00 PM, including the traditional cutting of the Toma DOP cheese. The market and food stalls open, showcasing local specialties. Street food begins at 7:00 PM in the Country Village, followed by a free musical evening starting at 10:00 PM.
Saturday, July 12th, features a Friendship Lunch in the street food area and the opening of a photo exhibition, "From Refuge to Refuge. Scenarios of mountaineering in the Lanzo Valleys." The Trelilu band will also perform, celebrating their 30th anniversary in Usseglio. Sunday, July 13th, continues with the market and children's activities, a guided tasting of Piedmont DOC cheeses and wines, and the Margaro Lunch in local restaurants.
A risotto flavored with Toma cheese, prepared by the Pro Loco in a giant pan, will be a highlight.
