The inaugural National "Spring of Oran 2025" Festival has commenced in Bir El-Djir, east of Oran. The festival features approximately 100 exhibitors showcasing traditional arts and Algerian cuisine. The festival also seeks to boost gastronomic tourism in Algeria, according to Karima Abderrahmane, president of the National Forum for Innovation in Crafts and Traditional Trades of Oran. Amateur chefs from various regions will present their regional specialties. They will exchange experiences and explore innovations in crafts. The festival includes demonstrations of traditional and modern pastries. It unites renowned chefs and culinary experts from Algeria and beyond. The festival promotes and preserves cultural heritage. It encourages young chefs to showcase Algerian culinary art. Afghoul Abdelouahab, president of the Chamber of Crafts and Trades of Oran, emphasized the unique flavors of Algerian cuisine. The "Spring of Oran" Festival promotes healthy and rich Algerian dishes. It provides workshops for young competitors to enhance their skills while respecting culinary traditions. A trainer from the "Zoubir Boudjemaa" Vocational Training Center in Oran highlighted this. The trainer, also president of the Algerian section of the World Association of Culinary Experts and a master chef in Australia, encouraged young people to join vocational training centers. He urged them to learn the culinary arts and invest in entrepreneurship. Strengthening management and marketing skills is also crucial. The three-day festival includes traditional dish, savory, and bread contests. A jury of specialists will oversee these competitions. The festival will conclude with the presentation of the Culinary Arts and Pastry Festival Cup. The National "Spring of Oran 2025" Festival is organized under the patronage of the Wali of Oran, Samir Chibani. It is managed by the Oran office of the National Forum for Innovation in Crafts and Traditional Trades. The event is coordinated with the local tourism and crafts directorate, in collaboration with the House of Culture and Arts "Zeddour Brahim El-Kacem" and the local chamber of crafts.
