Edited by: Елена 11

Sant'Antioco, Sardinia, is set to host the 666th Festa di S. Antioco Martire, the Feast of Saint Antiochus Martyr, from May 2nd to 5th. This event honors the patron saint of Sardinia. It blends faith, tradition, and entertainment in the heart of the city.

The festival features religious celebrations and moments of deep spirituality. A highlight is the procession of women carrying 'Coccoi de su Santu' to the Basilica. This decorated bread, shaped with floral motifs, wheat, and grapes, is a gift to the saint.

Traditional Sardinian costumes, horse riders, and musicians will parade through the streets. These processions will accompany the saint through the historic center and along the waterfront. The four-day event also includes civil festivities with music, cultural events, and local cuisine.

The festival begins with the opening of a local producers' market on May 2nd. Visitors can watch demonstrations of traditional dishes using local ingredients. There will also be workshops on making 'Coccoi de su Santu' and bread with tomatoes.

Wine tastings of Carignano, produced on the island, and traditional seafood dishes will be available. These offerings, combined with stories of faith and tradition, create a rich experience in Piazza De Gasperi. On May 3rd, Chef Luigi Pomata will present a show cooking event, followed by live music in Piazza Ferralasco.

May 4th includes discussions on sustainable tourism and the creation of a guide to Antiochene cuisine and Carignano wine. A parade of horse riders will take place in the city center. The return of the 'Pariglie' equestrian exhibition at Parco Giardino is also highly anticipated.

A chef competition will be held in Piazza De Gasperi, followed by musical performances in Piazza Ferralasco. The Cartoon Fest will offer entertainment for families. On May 5th, a grand fireworks display will conclude the festival, followed by more music in Piazza Ferralasco.

This edition promises devotion, tradition, and entertainment, offering a unique experience in Sant'Antioco. More details can be found on www.visitsantantioco.info.
