Hoi An has been named the most welcoming city in Vietnam, according to Booking.com's Traveller Review Awards 2025. Kien Giang province has been honored as the most welcoming region. This recognition highlights Vietnam's commitment to providing exceptional experiences for travelers.

Booking.com recently announced the top 10 most welcoming cities and top 5 most welcoming regions in Vietnam. This was part of the 13th annual Traveller Review Awards 2025. Kien Giang province was also celebrated for being among the world's friendliest destinations in 2025.

To qualify for the ranking, each destination needed at least 50 eligible accommodations. The ranking was determined by the proportion of properties receiving awards relative to the total number of accommodations in the area. For regions, a minimum of 200 eligible accommodations was required.

Following Hoi An, Ninh Binh and Quang Nam secured the second and third positions, respectively. Kien Giang's Phu Quoc is focusing on luxury tourism. It also emphasizes sea, island, ecological, and cultural experiences to enhance its high-end positioning.

Varun Grover, Country Director of Booking.com Vietnam, noted the increasing importance of personalized and emotionally connected travel experiences. He stated that accommodation choices now depend on the emotions travelers seek during their trips. Phu Quoc offers diverse lodging options to cater to various needs and preferences.

In the first quarter of 2025, Kien Giang province welcomed over 3.1 million visitors, a 13.7% increase compared to the same period last year. Tourism revenue reached over 13.04 trillion VND, nearly half of the year's target. Phu Quoc alone attracted over 2 million visitors, including nearly 474,500 international tourists, marking a 66.5% increase.

Phu Quoc International Airport is planned to increase its capacity to approximately 10 million passengers per year by 2030. The capacity will further increase to about 18 million passengers per year by 2050. This is a significant increase from the current capacity of 4 million passengers per year.

According to Mr. Tran Van Linh, Head of Tourism Management Department of Kien Giang province's Department of Tourism, the orientation to develop high-end, high-quality tourism products has consolidated the reputation of Phu Quoc as well as Kien Giang province.

This year, 13,003 accommodation partners in Vietnam were honored through this award. This is thanks to their hospitality and exceptional service. The Traveller Review Awards recognize partners who maintain excellent service quality and enhance the travel experience.

For the upcoming holiday on April 30th, room occupancy at resorts on the island is expected to increase sharply. Over 80% of 4-5 star hotels are booked. Room occupancy at resorts and villas is around 70%.
