Hamedan Province in Iran has seen a significant rise in tourism, with 911,437 tourists visiting between March 21 and June 3, 2024. This increase highlights the province's growing popularity as a destination for both domestic and international travelers, attracted by its diverse cultural and natural sites. Zahra Iravani, Director-General of Hamedan’s Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Department, shared these statistics.Popular attractions included the Ali Sadr Cave (100,936 visitors), the Avicenna Mausoleum (53,965 visitors), and the Baba Taher Mausoleum (44,880 visitors). Other notable sites were the Hegmataneh Hill (29,281 visitors) and the Baghe Mozeh Defa Mogadas (17,531 visitors), along with various museums across the province (664,844 visitors).Mohsen Masoum Alizadeh, Deputy of Tourism Affairs, reported that authorized accommodations hosted 119,167 passengers, a 20% increase compared to last year. The province also recorded 1,516,000 overnight stays between May 23 and June 2, with air travel accounting for 340 arrivals and 452 departures. Accommodation preferences included hotels and apartments (17,790 people), guest houses (7,700), eco-lodges (4,000), and traveler's homes, schools, and complexes (93,580).
