Flourishing Families Programme Launches to Support Family Well-being

Edited by: Liliya Shabalina

Peace and Mind UK has launched the "Flourishing Families" program. This initiative, inspired by Esther Ghey, aims to support primary school children and their families.

The program focuses on six pillars of well-being: nutrition, exercise, sleep, gratitude, nature, and community. Workshops integrate movement, creativity, mindfulness, and play to explore these pillars.

The program's structure is designed to guide families through "Well-Being World," using mascot characters Blossom and Bud. Families engage in interactive sessions that introduce each well-being pillar. For example, a nutrition session might involve creating healthy snacks, while an exercise session could feature fun physical activities. Sleep workshops might include discussions about healthy sleep habits and relaxation techniques. Gratitude sessions could involve journaling or expressing appreciation. Nature-based activities might include outdoor exploration, and community building could involve group projects or discussions. The program aims to empower families with practical tools and knowledge to improve their overall well-being, fostering stronger family bonds and promoting a positive and healthy lifestyle. The first session took place at Gorse Covert Primary School in Warrington.
