Edited by: lirust lilia

Oxfordshire residents now have 24/7 access to mental health support via text message. The Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust launched the service, offering immediate and confidential assistance for those experiencing mental health challenges. Individuals facing anxiety, stress, loneliness, depression, self-harm, or suicidal thoughts can text 'SUNRISE' to 85258 at any time. The service provides continuous access to mental health professionals, ensuring anonymity and is available at no cost. It complements existing in-person and telephone support, offering an alternative access point. Individuals can receive urgent support as a first step or between appointments. Lola Martos, Clinical Director for Oxfordshire at Oxford Health, emphasized the service's simplicity and speed, highlighting its role in providing immediate access to qualified mental health professionals. The service extends to Buckinghamshire, integrating with existing mental health services across the region. Consultant Psychiatrist Tina Malhotra noted this integration, making it easier for people to get mental health support.
