The man was walking with his dog when he accidentally stepped into a snow-covered crevasse and fell. He was trapped about eight meters down.
The dog, not able to get out on its own, alerted a passing tourist who called for help. The rescue team found the dog standing guard, which helped them locate the man. The rescuers pulled him out of the crevasse. The man and his dog were brought to a hospital in Fiesch for further examination.
