The New York Dog & Cat Film Festival is bringing its collection of short films to Colorado Springs on May 2, 2025. The Independent Film Society of Colorado will host the festival at the Cottonwood Center for the Arts.
The cat films will be shown at 4 p.m., followed by the dog films at 6:30 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will benefit All Breed Rescue & Training. The cat film festival will feature 19 short films, while the dog film festival will showcase 17 short films.
Tracie Hotchner, a pet wellness advocate and founder of the film festival, ensures a positive viewing experience. According to Hotchner, nothing bad happens to the animals in the films, which aim for a blend of happy, sad, funny, and even sarcastic moments. The annual festival premieres in New York City and then travels across the United States and Canada.
