Innovative Education: Nature's Impact, Consumer Rights, and Identifying High Intellectual Capacity

Edited by: Olga N

A Canadian study reveals that incorporating nature into the school day can significantly reduce stress in children with mental health challenges. The 12-week intervention, involving 1,015 students and 53 teachers across 33 schools, showed the most significant emotional health improvements in children with pre-existing conditions like anxiety and depression. Students engaged in regular academic lessons and short mental health activities in a park setting. In consumer protection, the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 in India, through the CCPA, has been actively addressing issues in the education sector. It has issued notices to coaching institutes for misleading advertisements and secured refunds of approximately Rs 1.56 crore for over 600 students facing issues like unfulfilled services. In Peru, early detection of High Intellectual Capacity (ACI) is crucial. Approximately 2% of the world's population is born with ACI, but only a fraction are identified. Early identification allows for tailored curricula and support, maximizing the potential of these children, who often excel in STEM fields.
